I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4. I would rate the exterior of this Explorer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking truck. It is finished in Blue and Gray two tone over matching Gray interior, which is a good color combination. The blue finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find much worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Explorer. The worst I can say about this Explorer is that there is some visible rust in the left rear door around the fender...which is common. There is a little rust visible poking through on the quarter panel, but nothing to be concerned about. The rockers, door bottoms, and tail gate are all pretty rust-free. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors, and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the cladding and trim is present and shows well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Explorer came in. I would rate the interior of this Explorer to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. A full set of factory Ford floor mats are included. The seats are clean, comfortable, and show virtually no wear. The power windows, locks, seat, and mirrors all work properly. The audio system has been upgraded with an aftermarket in-dash CD player which works properly and sounds good through the factory speakers. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. There is also rear heating and air conditioning. Passenger room is ample throughout the interior. Access to the third row of seating is easy and there is impressive room for passengers in the third row. The cargo area is spacious and clean. When not in use, the third row easily folds flat to open up an impressive amount of storage capacity. If needed, the middle row can also fold flat. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Explorer came in. Mechanically, this Explorer XLT appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older truck. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The check engine light was on when this Explorer came in. The code is for "fuel rail pressure sensor circuit"...so I'm guessing that sensor went bad. It doesn't seem to have any impact on how this truck drives, though. During my road test, this Explorer was a pleasure to drive. The engine feels strong and makes smooth power. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. If you're looking for a solid older SUV, this Explorer XLT deserves a close look. It is very clean for the year and mileage and has the desirable 3rd row of seating.
